Blacks opens its new factory

New Blacks factory: Italian technological excellence investing in people, the local area and sustainability

It was inaugurated on June 27 in Faenza, the new plant of Blacks, a leading company in the design and production of high-performance composite components for the motorsport, aerospace, and luxury automotive sectors. An architectural facility conceived as an intelligent and sustainable "production machine", the result of an industrial vision that combines cutting-edge technology, environmental respect, and a people-centered approach.

The inauguration was an opportunity to host a high-level roundtable entitled “Composite Materials and Sustainability: Innovating Today, Building the Future”, which featured direct dialogue between representatives from academia, industry, and institutions. Speakers included Massimo Cecchini (STR Automotive), Carlo Della Bona (ANGELONI Group), Stefano Lanciarini (Ferrari S.p.A.), and Prof. Matteo Mura (University of Bologna), opening an in-depth discussion on sustainability, innovation, and the new challenges facing the supply chain.

Adding further depth to the event was an extraordinary and unprecedented moment: two major figures of Italian sportAndrea Dovizioso, former MotoGP rider, and Davide Cassani, former Head Coach of the Italian National Cycling Team – shared the same stage to reflect together on the meaning of performance today. A dialogue between disciplines and perspectives, where the world of sports engaged with advanced industry, united by the common thread of innovation and the reliability of materials.

“Having personalities of the caliber of Dovizioso and Cassani side by side to discuss performance and sustainability is something truly exceptional” – commented Gabriele Bandini and Mattia Tamburini, Founders of Blacks“It proves how the principles that drive elite sports perfectly overlap with those that inspire our daily work.”

The celebratory day was opened by Massimo Isola, Mayor of Faenza, who stated: “Blacks represents a virtuous model that combines strong local roots with an international outlook. It is a company that has evolved while keeping people, education, and industrial value at its core. Today we are not just celebrating an inauguration, but a concrete example of a future built with vision, perfectly aligned with Faenza’s C-HUB strategy. This new facility, in fact, further strengthens our city as a center of excellence for research and development in composite and advanced materials, which have become not only a point of excellence but a true hallmark of our territory, such as carbon fiber. Blacks is a key player in this ecosystem, actively contributing to the development of new skills through its Academy and engaging with local educational programs, including IFTS courses specifically focused on carbon, which are essential to train the professionals of tomorrow. A company like Blacks is undoubtedly one of the fundamental pillars of a region that closely identifies with the Motor Valle

In the same spirit, greetings were also brought by the authorities of the Emilia-Romagna Region in attendance: Manuela Rontini (Undersecretary to the Presidency), Niccolò Bosi (Regional Councillor), and Eleonora Proni (Regional Councillor), who jointly emphasized that Blacks represents one of the most dynamic and significant entities within Emilia-Romagna’s industrial fabric, a symbol of a pro

The new facility, the result of years of planning and investment, was built according to advanced engineering standards: every space has been designed to meet strict requirements for quality and environmental control. The goal is not only about production, but also about values: to offer clients outstanding components while ensuring reliability, ethics, traceability, and a strong focus on people.
